This programme aligns with the City of Cape Town's strategy to reduce the number of young people living on the streets, and to rehabilitate and reintegrate them into their communities of origin. The idea behind these workshops, which occur twice each week at Zip Zap's main location, is that the study of circus arts reinforces positive role models while encouraging young people to develop physical, social and emotional merits. Learners are also invited to participate in Zip Zap's core youth circus classes on Friday and Saturday afternoons, allowing them additional opportunities to practice their circus skills while integrating into the Zip Zap family.
