Zip Zap Circus School are the proud owners of a circus tent (dome) located in the heart of town, next to Artscape Theatre Centre. The shows and events department is based at the dome.
The dome is used for various functions – training, shows and events.
As all of Zip Zap’s programmes are free to beneficiaries, income is generated through hiring out the dome for a variety of events including gala dinners, cocktail parties, product launches, exhibitions, concerts and many more.
As an events team, we need to deliver on various events and shows for 2020 including external hires and internal events. For external hires, this entails managing the entire event from query to execution and wrap up, while working very closely to the client. For internal events, we are responsible to execute the event from conception to wrap up while working closely with all departments at Zip Zap and keeping in line with the Zip Zap brand and values.

REPORTING: The events intern will report to the Events Manager. Events meetings are held on a weekly basis. The intern will be required to attend this and other internal meetings as required.
REQUIREMENTS: Someone with a GREAT and CAN-DO attitude. Willing to roll up their sleeves and hit the deck running. We are looking for an intern that is hungry to gain a wealth of experience and happy to wear many hats at once. A self-starting individual who can work without supervision and can handle high stress levels and situations, and willing to work over time when requested to do so. Must be professional with an unquestionable work ethic and impeccable communication etiquette, and computer skills above average. Own transport is preferable or access to private transport.
