Zip Zap Social Circus has performed for Princes and Presidents, undertaken 30 world tours and performed at 108 shows nationally last year, now they will take to the world stage again at the Match in Africa #6. International attention will be on this imminent Exhibition Match between tennis superstars Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal – this time on African soil.
Zip Zap brings it home for Match in Africa
In April 2017, Zip Zap was invited to add authentic African flavour to the Match for Africa #3 Exhibition Night in Zurich Switzerland. The troupe of talented young South African’s set the audience alight in the sold out Hallenstadion, where Roger Federer and Andy Murray competed in a riveting singles match, televised across the globe and raising funds for the Roger Federer Foundation.

On Friday, 7th February, Zip Zap will be working their contagious magic again, performing with the acclaimed Ndlovu Youth Choir to their new album, Africa. This time it’s on home ground at the Cape Town Stadium. The Choir shot to international stardom by securing second place in America’s Got Talent, focussing the world’s attention on South African music and performing arts. The combination of these two profoundly brilliant youth performers is bound to be nothing short of spectacular.
Capacity-packed stadium to host a first-in-Africa spectacle
Founded in 1992, Zip Zap is an innovative Academy, that nurtures talent and empowers young people from diverse backgrounds. This Exhibition Match will showcase the remarkable and awe-inspiring talent of fifty of their top performers. The performance will comprise of four acts harmoniously blended with the Choir’s upbeat and rousing choral anthems.
Drawn from Zip Zap’s youth and vocational programme the troupe will delight tennis enthusiasts with colourful and daring acrobatics blended with hula hoops, comedy acrobatic, juggling, unicycle and floor tumbling. Organisers have been hard at work designing a safe and technically competent rigging system to allow for mesmerising trapeze and aerial acts. Anticipate a perfect blend of world-class tennis, African rhythms and gravity-defying circus arts.
