However, being apart, doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t still connect. We cannot underestimate the true value of human connectedness.
[Connectedness]– a feeling that you have a link with somebody / something or are part of a group – Oxford Dictionary
Aligned with our values, we are choosing to respond to the crisis with fierce optimism and determination. We rise daily and continue to be true to our mantra: To Inspire Kids for Life. We have also rapidly migrated from the real world into a digital world.
The show must go on!
Our students need inspiration, now than ever before. That’s why we have launched the first ever Zip Zap’s Virtual Travelling Circus led by ringmaster Lionel Chanarin and his merry troupe of instructors. This awesome team are hosting daily exercise classes on What’s App, sharing boredom busters while in lockdown and hosting circus masterclasses for students.
We checked in one-on-one with our beneficiaries to see how they were doing in these troubled times. It was evident that besides their basic needs such as food and sanitation, they all felt ‘left behind’ and listed ‘data’ as a way to stay connected to the circus ring.
Most of our students exist in the lowest socio-economic bracket and don’t have the luxury of WiFi or high-speed fibre connectivity.
Help us reach our target by visiting: BackaBuddy campaign OR you can simply SMS ‘zipzap’ (a few times!) Remember “zipzap” must be one word to make a difference!
It’s at times like these that we need to thank you – our supporters, donors, fan club and family – for your contribution to keeping the circus magic and Zip Zap’s dream alive.
Without your continued support and faith in the impact of our work, this all couldn’t be possible.
Help us stay connected and keep the circus ring growing.
