Night at the Circus – The CaretakerMay 26, 2020
As in every Circus – the show must go on. While Covid-19 has curtailed Zip Zap’s ability to perform live shows and re-open training programmes, their students have not stopped doing what they love most – circus! Zip Zap is keeping the dream alive by delivering training, inspiration and motivation through their Virtual Travelling Circus and still creating circus magic.
Virtual Travelling Circus
Humbled to be part of the Community
Operating within constrained resources and in extraordinary times, it’s evident that the virtual classes are having a positive impact on their students as this parent testifies: “We did not expect Zip Zap to continue teaching during lockdown. Their remote teaching is supporting the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of my 11-year old daughter. We are humbled to be part of this community.” Nawaal Deane (Simunye parent)
I’m Still Standing
Zip Zap students are embracing the challenge of migrating from ‘real time’ to experiencing digital performing - sparking imaginations and innovation. One of the challenges was to generate quirky circus festivity to accompany Elton John’s ‘I’m Still Standing.’ (SING version). The idea was simple. Spread the circus love and joy. This is the result from the collective creativity of Zip Zap’s professional performers and Dare2Dream students.
“As we all come to terms with our vastly altered realities in Covid19 lockdown, Zip Zap remains steadfastly committed to ensuring the physical and emotional wellbeing of their students.” Comments, CEO and co-founder, Laurence Estève
Zip Zap continues to raise funds to keep the show on the road.
